II. Programme Objectives
1. Objective Orientation
Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, taking fostering virtue through education as the fundamental task and social demand as the orientation, the programme aims to cultivate well-rounded developed socialist builders and reliable successors with moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor capabilities. Based in Jiujiang, serving Jiangxi and radiating nationwide, the Programme cultivates high-quality applied nursing talents who meet the development needs of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and health care cause, with firm ideals and convictions, good political quality, professional values and professional ethics. Graduates shall systematically master basic theories, knowledge and skills of nursing, possess basic clinical nursing ability, preliminary teaching, management and research abilities, and be competent for nursing and preventive health care work in various medical and health care institutions. They shall have high comprehensive quality, solid professional foundation, strong practical ability and innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.
2. Expected Objectives to be Achieved Approximately Five Years after Graduation
Objective 1: Love the motherland, possess ideals, morality, culture, and discipline; be devoted to the health cause, with firm will, sound personality, honesty and trustworthiness, and courage to explore; have the spirit to strive for national prosperity and strength, and to dedicate oneself to the development of medical undertakings and the service of people's health.
Objective 2: Inherit the spirit of Meiyu Shi , be faithful to the nursing profession, establish professional pride, possess a strong sense of social responsibility, cultural cultivation, behavioral norms, and professional ethics; establish a correct view of medical ethics, respect and cherish life, and defend the legitimate rights and interests of nursing recipients.
Objective 3: Be able to comprehensively apply knowledge and skills from nursing and related disciplines, possess an interdisciplinary perspective, and be competent in primary nursing, emergency nursing, specialized nursing, health education, and other nursing tasks in various medical, health, and health care institutions.
Objective 4: Be able to communicate effectively and collaborate in nursing practice, use critical thinking to analyze problems and make scientific decisions, and effectively carry out nursing teaching, nursing research, nursing management, and community nursing.
Objective 5: Have problem awareness, self-learning ability, and innovative spirit; be adept at using the Internet and information technology to obtain information; keep up with domestic and international developments in the profession and related disciplines; continuously improve oneself to meet the changing health care needs of society.

V. Programme Duration, Degree, and Credit Requirements
The programme duration is four years. To graduate, students must complete a total of 169 credits as specified in the curriculum, including 48 credits in general education courses, 28.5 credits in basic professional courses, 56.5 credits in professional courses (51.5 credits of compulsory professional courses and 5 credits of elective professional courses), 34 credits in practical training (excluding in-class practice), and 2 credits in extracurricular activities. Students who meet the degree requirements will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree.
